Honoring Change and Welcoming What’s Next
Erin Bratsky, MSW, LCPC
August at Brighter Sky Counseling is all about change as we prepare to move into a new office. This change brings so many emotions. There is excitement about what is ahead and sadness for what we are leaving behind. There is even some disappointment that this move was not part of our plan. Like so many changes in life, it showed up unexpectedly and asked us to pivot quickly.
As we pack up this space, I keep thinking about what it means to have a relationship with a place. At first glance, a relationship feels like it is connected to the location. But if we look closer, it is not the walls or the furniture that make it meaningful. It is the people and the connections that happen inside. Relationships happen when people feel safe enough to show up, share themselves, and be seen. They can happen anywhere.
This office has witnessed so much:
- Stories bravely shared and deeply honored
- Quiet moments of healing between clients and therapists
- Groups forming meaningful connections that continue beyond these walls
- Clients learning self compassion and building trust with themselves
- Staff growing together through challenges and celebrating milestones big and small
Brighter Sky Counseling has never been about a single address. What matters most is the feeling we create. That sense of safety, connection, and hope comes from the people who walk through our doors and from the relationships built in our work together.
Our new space at 2270 Grant Rd Suite 1 gives us a chance to continue that work in new ways. We will carry forward the spirit of this place while making room for the next chapter of healing. Change allows us to hold two truths at once. We can feel the sadness of goodbye and the excitement of what is ahead. We have the capacity for both.
Starting August 18 we will welcome all clients, new and old. Follow us on social media and sign up for our emails for formal announcements and to see how we are celebrating this move together.
