When I started Brighter Sky Counseling, I had a vision that went beyond a single therapy office. I wanted to build something that felt different from the moment you walked in, a place where therapists genuinely learn from one another, support each other's growth, and bring that energy directly into their work with clients.

What we have built here in Billings, MT is something I am incredibly proud of. Not because of any one person, but because of all of us together.

Why a Group Practice Is Different

There is something that happens when talented therapists work alongside each other every day. They share ideas. They consult on complex cases. They challenge each other to stay curious, stay humble, and stay sharp. That culture of learning does not stay inside our staff meetings. It shows up in every session you have with your therapist.

When you work with someone at Brighter Sky Counseling, you are not working with an isolated practitioner. You are benefiting from a team.

That also means real flexibility for you as a client. If your needs change over time, whether you want to add couples counseling to your individual work, transition to a different therapist who is a better fit, or begin telehealth sessions instead of coming in person, we can make that happen within the same practice you already trust. No starting over. No re-explaining your story.

Meet the People Behind Brighter Sky Counseling

I want to take a moment to introduce the incredible therapists who make this practice what it is. Each of them brings something irreplaceable to our team.

Kendra Herlyn, LCPC | Clinical Director

Kendra has been with BSC for over 4 years and has grown into the role of Clinical Director with grace and intention. She works with teens, adults, and couples navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Kendra's warmth, precision, and decade of experience make her both an outstanding clinician and the kind of leader who makes the whole team better.

Kelly Howell, LCSW | Clinical Supervisor

Kelly is one of the most seasoned voices on our team and was recently named Montana's Clinical Social Worker of the Year for 2025, a recognition that is as well-deserved as it gets. She specializes in depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, ADHD, and chronic pain, and uses approaches including EMDR, IFS, ACT, and CBT. Kelly is currently on a waitlist but her influence on how we care for clients runs deep. If you are curious about EMDR therapy, Kelly is a wonderful resource.

Grady Johnson, LMFT | Therapist

Grady is our Marriage and Family Therapist, which means he holds a unique lens on how relationships, families, and attachment patterns shape who we are. He works with children, teens, adults, couples, and families, and brings expertise in couples therapy, premarital counseling, child-centered play therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. A born-and-raised Montanan who has called Billings home since 2020, Grady brings both clinical depth and genuine community roots to his work. He is currently on a waitlist.

Kinsey Irvin, LCPC | Therapist

Kinsey's background as a former athlete and coach makes her one of the most distinctively equipped therapists for anyone who has ever felt the pressure to perform while quietly struggling on the inside. She works primarily with teens and young adults, including athletes navigating performance anxiety, body image concerns, depression, and identity questions. She uses CBT, mindfulness, EMDR, and solution-focused approaches to help clients feel grounded on and off the field. Learn more about teen therapy at BSC.

Jake Raynock, SWLC | Therapist

Jake works with both individuals and couples, which is a combination that makes him particularly valuable in our practice. He brings a background in corrections and a deep belief that everyone has the capacity for change. His work spans couples communication, conflict, depression, anxiety, trauma, and OCD. Jake uses the Gottman Method, CBT, DBT, and Exposure and Response Prevention, and he is supervised by Kelly Howell. If you are looking for individual therapy for adults or want to explore couples counseling, Jake is accepting new clients.

Morgan Corcoran, PCLC | Therapist

Morgan works with adults navigating life transitions, identity questions, trauma, grief, and personal growth. As a former college athlete and coach, she brings firsthand understanding of the pressures that come with performance and identity shifts. Morgan is also joined in the office by Lincoln, a trained therapy dog, who has a way of making sessions feel a little warmer and a little more grounded. She is supervised by Kendra Herlyn and is accepting new clients.

Chelsea Wagner, LCPC | Therapist

Chelsea works with adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating grief, loss, trauma, anxiety, depression, and difficult life changes. Her approach is deeply person-centered: she believes that meaningful healing happens when you feel truly seen. Chelsea integrates DBT skills around emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness when they are a good fit for what a client needs. She is accepting new clients.

Angie Fox Wahl, SWLC | Therapist

Angie joined BSC earlier this year and brings nearly 20 years of experience in victim services and work with survivors of domestic violence. She works with teens and adults navigating anxiety, stress, trauma, depression, anger, and the long shadow that difficult life experiences can leave behind. Angie's approach is warm, trauma-informed, and collaborative, and she is supervised by Kendra Herlyn. She is accepting new clients.

Suzanne Boyd, SWLC | Therapist

Suzanne offers telehealth-only therapy for adults working through life transitions, grief, depression, anxiety, and the emotional weight of chronic health issues or unexpected life changes. Her strength-based approach focuses on building resilience and equipping clients with tools for the long haul. Suzanne is supervised by Kelly Howell and is accepting new clients. If you are looking for telehealth therapy in Montana, Suzanne is a wonderful option.

A Practice Built on Shared Strengths

Every therapist on this team is different. Different backgrounds, different specialties, different ways of connecting with clients. And that is exactly the point.

When Kinsey has a client who might benefit from EMDR, she can talk to Kelly. When Jake is supporting a couple, he has Grady nearby who specializes in family systems and attachment. When a new client is not sure who to see, we can match them thoughtfully based on what they actually need, not just who has an opening.

That kind of collaboration makes every therapist on this team a better clinician. And it makes BSC a better place to get help.

If you are ready to find the right fit for you, we would love to hear from you. You can meet our full team, browse our services for adults, or go ahead and request an appointment. We are here.
